What the source reads — the classical Peshitta New Testament — 22 books
What this version reads — 2 Peter, 2 John, 3 John, Jude and Revelation are absent — supplied centuries later from other Syriac versions
The Peshitta the Syriac church has read since antiquity carries 22 New Testament books, not 27. The five most-disputed writings — the shorter catholic epistles and Revelation — were never part of it; they were added later from the Philoxenian / Harklean and Crawford traditions. The Reader flags these five with a * in the Aramaic column. A canon difference, undisputed.
