What this version reads — For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
The explanation of the angel stirring the pool of Bethesda is absent from the oldest manuscripts and marked as doubtful in others; a later gloss made verse. In the Byzantine text and the KJV.
