What this version reads — rimanga piuttosto in atteggiamento tranquillo (CEI 2008)
The polemical lists cite this as a 'softening' of Paul's command that women keep silent. But the Greek here is hesychía — 'quietness, stillness', not the word for silence (sigḗ) — so 'a quiet demeanour' is arguably the more literal rendering. And CEI does not soften the passage as a whole: verse 11 still reads 'La donna impari in silenzio, in piena sottomissione'. A real wording difference in one verse, not the censorship claimed.
