Apollos, an eloquent and learned man, is taken aside and taught 'the way of God more accurately' by a married couple — and in the earliest manuscripts the wife is named first: 'Priscilla and Aquila.' The Byzantine text and the Textus Receptus reverse it to 'Aquila and Priscilla,' and the KJV follows — moving the woman behind her husband in the very verse where she does the teaching. Paul names her first in four of her six mentions. Scribal habit or unease, the effect is a quiet demotion; the critical text and the modern versions keep her at the front.
